Fallsafe
Are you over 65 and worried about falling at home?
Have you already suffered a fall?
Are you concerned about an older person you know falling?
If so, please read on for more about our Fallsafe project.
Fallsafe is a project set up by us to help prevent the admission of older people to hospitals as a result of falls.
We have recruited and trained volunteers to visit older people in their homes and offer a home safety assessment using a specially drawn-up checklist.
Trailing wires, loose carpets, unsuitable positioning of appliances and uneven front paths are only a few of the tripping hazards at home.
Minor repairs and alterations may be required to avoid future problems.
So, if you are an older person or if you are a concerned professional, carer, relative, friend or neighbour worried about an older person you know falling, please give us a call on 020 8567 8017.
We will arrange a visit from one of our volunteers who will assess you at home to see if it's safe from tripping hazards.
Additionally, if you would like a free copy of the leaflet 'Falls - how to avoid them, how to cope', please phone 08457 413 013.
